You have again caused me to examine this inner conflict that affects me from time to time.
Reading your blog post "This woman's work" almost had me crying in my coffee again this morning at work. Maybe I feel it more than most men because I was "Mr. Mom" when my son was 8 to 11 years old. I was under, or unemployed during that time.
Then there's the piece about costumes for skaters. It brings out the rutting pig-like male in me. Katarina Witt in a uniform? Never!
Thank you Richard - we are kindred spirits - at least about some things! For "This Women's Work," most of the credit goes to Kate Bush for her beautiful lyrics. But it's lovely to hear that the story touched you.
Now - onto skating. I guess I have to go with my husband on this: Women watch figure skating. Men watch women. A subtle but critical difference, right?
